When mega skincare brand Kiehl’s releases a new mask, you stand up and pay attention. When they release two at once you jump up and down on the spot shouting ‘hallelujah!’ Luckily for us skincare junkies the later has happened. Let me introduce to you Cilantro & Orange Extract Pollutant Defending Masque* and Turmeric & Cranberry Seed Energising Radiance Masque*. Sounds fancy right?
Both sitting at £28 you’ve got a mask to suit two of the biggest skincare concerns – imperfections & radiance. Let’s start with the greener of the two, the Cilantro & Orange Extract mask. It’s a smooth formula that glides onto the skin whilst feeling rather cooling. It doesn’t set like a traditional clay mask however it does dry down to be less tacky. Here you are recommended to leave on the skin for 5 minutes patting in the excess to leave a protective layer on overnight. I love how refreshing this feels as soon as its applied. It leaves my face feeling smooth, imperfections are less intense and areas of sensitivity are calmed.
Now onto the orange pot. Here you have Tumeric & Cranberry Seed to boost radiance and skin brightness. Firstly, just a warning that I’m allergic to cranberries. This made me a tad apprehensive before application and although I didn’t experience any adverse reactions, I will be passing this on to my mum just to be on the safe side! That being said the crushed cranberry seed did help to exfoliate my skin leaving it looking visibly clearer and more radiant just be careful when washing the mask away to not cause any irritation.
Overall these two new additions do Kiehl’s proud! I love me a mask and although I’ve fallen out of the routine of using them as often as I once did, I find they are the best things to restore angry skin to a state of blissful serenity. Also – I am rather loving the fancy names going on even if it does sound like I’m applying a grocery bag to my face each night!
