It is time. Time for us to talk #KylieLipKits. Oh yes I got sucked up into the hype and stayed awake one Tuesday evening until the clock struck midnight to snap up these highly coveted liquid lipsticks. So what do I think? Honestly a lot of the hype is surrounding the lady herself as opposed to the products. Yes the colours are simply gorgeous but I wouldn’t stand here and shout from the rooftops that these are my favourite formulas, Kat Von D still holds that crown in my eyes. Saying that though I do prefer these compared to something like the MAC Retro Matte Lipsticks as their slightly wet application gives you the time to create a precise line and clean finish.
But lets talk colour. On that fateful evening I added Candy K, Posy K & Koko K to my basket. Koko K is by far my favourite and already my most worn. You get a very wearable everyday nude with a hint of pink that leaves things still looking quite natural on the lips even though you are rocking a matte lipstick. Formula wise these apply wet and dry down within about a minute. They do highlight every line and crease on your lips however they don’t feel overly dry or tight. In terms of the lip liner I do find lining you lips makes application easier, quick and hides any tell tale signs when the lipstick begins to wear away.
Now when it comes to the ordering process here is my advice: set up your account early. You don’t have time here to be faffing with entering your delivery address or details. Also, know what you want to buy ahead of the release. As soon as the launch happens you need to add everything to want to your basket and go. I made the mistake the first time round to amend my basket and by that point I was pushed out the queue and everything swiftly sold out.
Delivery was pretty speedy, under two weeks in my case and I didn’t incur any additional custom charges. Packaging is exactly what you’ve all seen, I personally quite like it however I’m dubious over the fact there doesn’t seem to be any suction when you pull the wand out of the tube. My first impressions can be seen in today’s video including swatches and close up applications of all the colours I bought. All in all I am one happy camper. I can’t see myself purchasing any more in the near future however I am super happy with what I’ve got and love the fact I can trust these lasting on my lips even through a day in the office.
