The amount of makeup I manage to consume or desire ‘necessary’ can become quite overwhelming. I have one face shock and a full time job meaning that each day doesn’t open up opportunities for me to try out a bold lid, false lashes or contour to rival the Kardashian/Jenner clan. I’ve never been one to favour a ‘daily’ edit, instead seeking comfort from having the choice of all my products on a daily basis. That being said, in a bid to switch things up & shave a few minutes off the clock whilst getting ready in the morning, I’ve put together a daily edit unit. I know. Groundbreaking.
The aim of the game? Fit everything I use daily into this small set from Muji. Therefore, not only can I reach for the essentials in the morning blurry eyed haze, I prevent myself from a drawn out 5 minute selection process when it comes to what blush I want to wear. I switch the products out when something new gets added to the collection or when I find myself having a nosey through my draws for something different to slap on.
Most of these products will come as no surprise. The Marc Jacobs Coconut Face Primer to start followed by the newly formulated L’Oreal True Match Foundation. For concealer it’s still my trusty Shiseido Sheer Eye Zone Corrector paired with the Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Concealer. All my powering needs come from the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit however I have popped in my new Becca Tint Shimmer Souffle and RMS Living Luminizer for days when I want a switch up.
For eyes it all comes down to my Stila Eyes are the Window Shadow Palette in Soul, Charlotte Tilbury Eyes to Mesmerise Cream Shadow in Norma Jean and my two Burberry shadow loves in Pale Barley and Nude. Finally lashes and brows. For lashes that pack the volume day to day I opt for my Two Faced Better Than Sex Mascara which wouldn’t be the same without done up brows thanks to my Soap & Glory Archery Pen and Anastasia Tinted Brow Gel. Even with these essentials I can create a multitude of looks without needing to spend half my morning deciding on which contour palette to use. But yes, my lipsticks live in another draw ;)
What are your favourite products at the moment? Do you have a draw or bag where you keep your daily essentials?
