The snip has happened. It’s been long time since I’ve updated this dear blog with a hair post – what can I say it’s just not been up to scratch. During delivery at work I went into autopilot mode. I forgot about my nails, my hair, everything was stripped back to the bare essentials each day so I could nab a moment more of precious sleep. Once we were delivered and I snapped back into my normal self I was graced by the presence of a horrendous mop of hair that had emerged over the weeks. My fringe was non existent, split ends were running rife and all style and shape was a mere distant memory. It was time to go to the salon and it was time for a serious snip!
Instead of holding on to my comfort blanket and asking for a trim, I went for the full hog. Short. The shortest potentially my hair has ever been. I closed my eyes, said go an extra half an inch oer and here we have it. Short. The rhyme & reasoning behind my rash decision lies behind the fact I needed a good snip. It was apparent I needed to cut away the dead and stick with what was healthy. This has resulted in two things – aside from a beautiful new do I now have a lack of blonde and a new styling regime. That’s right, I failed to compute that by cutting away all the damaged hair I was effectively cutting out the blonde. Whoops. Do not fear I have an appointment later today to put this to right ;)
The second result was the style. Usually my approach is a very basic one. Wake up, brush hair, leave house. Advance styling comes in the form of my Babyliss Big Hair Styler that gives a sleek finish to my normal haphazard blow dry. Issue now lies within the new shot cut not suiting my natural straight style. I fear it holds resemblance to a mushroom so to ensure I don’t get picked up out a forest for a risotto I’ve rifled through my styling devices and starting giving curling a go. Nothing overly perfected, I’m talking a few key pieces held around a hot device to ignite a bit of curl and movement. Simples. This breaks up the mushroom look and leaves me with those beachy waves I’ve covetted for the past few years. Bliss. Short hair – I think you and I are going to get on well together.
So there you have it. A run down of my new do including a new adventure into daily styling. It’s an exciting world!
