Firstly – apologies for the slightly overexposed pictures. Turns out the cloudy day was a heck of a lot brighter than I initially thought! Light issues aside I’ve finally given in to the foundation temptation gods and surrendered to the alter of the bareMinerals Complexion Rescue Tinted Hydrated Gel Cream. Coming from the brand that is all about the powder, although this isn’t technically a new release you’ll struggle to find a bucket full of reviews splattered across the interwebz. Now a new Chanel foundation, that immediately become the focus of everyone’s attention, however this glowy base has relatively remained under the radar. That being said, those that have put this liquid offering to the test report back that it’s a base to reckoned with.
Enough was enough – it’s time to dive in face first and give this base the AGAABB once over. First up – great shade selection. With 10 on offer I found myself nestled between 02 Vanilla and 03 Opal opting for the lighter of the two. With yellow undertones this suits my pinky skin to balance out that redness without giving me a fake tan glow. Formula wise you can easily mistake this for a moisturiser, oh yes it’s that fluid on the skin I went straight in with my hands. The colour was a match and imperfections started to blur, next was where I was left a tad disappointed. Being a fan of the Diorskin Nude BB Cream I was expecting a tad more coverage. This sits very light on the skin that for a day at work I opted for two applications.
That being said it does feel incredible once applied, super lightweight, moisturising and no dry patch clinging in site. Where this base really impressed me was wear time. It lasted! The foundation remained in tact which I contribute all to those hydrating properties nestled in the ingredients list. Just the same concept as my No Primer post, look after your skin and your makeup won’t go anywhere (within reasons obvs). Not an instant hint and I can see myself going back to the Charlotte Tilbury Light Wonder base day to day however for a no makeup look or when the weekend rolls into town, this will be a hit.
