In a flurry of online shopping on a Saturday night wild weekend am I right? I had clearly watched far too many Snapchats from Kylie Jenner as I was ready to buy every single matte lipstick and liner MAC was offering up on their website. Instead of reworking my entire lipstick collection I picked up three items to give myself those brown nude nips the world has been rocking. And yes, before you begin to wonder whether I’ve unearthed some magical shades hidden away in MAC’s back catalog, I haven’t. I got the popular ones. Yay me!
So finally MAC Soar Lip Pencil and MAC Whirl Lip Pencil are mine. The good thing about jumping on the bandwagon late? They were both in stock and ready to fast track their way over to me and my eagerly awaiting beauty addict hands! Considering day to day I’m a pinky nude kinda gal, these were a shock to the system, not often do I reach for a deeper brown nude. If you aren’t used to the shade range you may find yourself doing a double take at how bold they appear on the lips. Soar carries a hint of pink undertone whereas Whirl is the darkest of the two with a strong brown colour on the lips.
Not content with two liner purchases it seemed rude not to add a lippy into the mix. After obsessing over Lily’s makeup in her recent vlogs I knew MAC Mehr Matte Lipstick had to be mine. Worn alone or paired up with either one of these liners, it’s a beaut. Again a darker take on an everyday nude it gives a stronger finish to any look, however even in summer I think it’s super wearable. Pigmentation is strong here and thanks to it’s matte quality you won’t find this budging anytime soon, especially when slicked over a layer of liner.
