I love my luxury beauty products. It’s okay. I can admit it. There is something about their super swish packaging and enticing beauty halls that lures me in only to result in my dropping some serious money shock. That being said, I have become more acquainted with the British drugstores over the past couple of years and delved into the budget delights that they have to offer. What can I say, there are some fab products on the highstreet that really give their luxury counterparts a run for their money! Recently I’ve noticed more of my everyday base picks sit under that £10 price tag so I thought it was finally time to share them with you :)
Bourjois 123 Perfect Colour Correcting Cream
New in to my drugstore top 3 edit comes from Bourjois in the form of their CC Cream. Unlike the Dr Jart offering that I talk about below, this is more akin to a foundation and becomes more of a CC Cream hybrid. The consistency is heavier therefore giving you more coverage without going patchy throughout the day. This is what I’ll grab if I want to rock that no makeup, makeup look. Giving more colour to the skin whilst masking any imperfections or blemishes this will give your a bit more coverage confidence when you don’t want to reach for a traditional foundation.
It was this foundation alone that converted my previous skepticism over drugstore foundations. Initially worried over shade selection, cheep packaging and poor formulas, this has actually become my go to foundation for nights out or days when I need my makeup to last. The coverage is on point, I’m talking a medium finish that still manages to look natural on the skin without clinging to any dry patches. I apply this either with a beauty blender or my RT buffing brush and every time it gives a gorgeous finish that I still am loving months later.
Dr Jart+ Water Fuse Beauty Balm Cream
Is there anything else I can say about this hydrating base that hasn’t been said before? A firm favourite from the past couple of years I flit between using this daily depending on the time of year and how my skin is behaving. Either as a laid back weekend look or even to brave to work (it has been known to happy before!) this is my all time favourite BB cream and natural base to wear.
What are your favourite drugstore foundations? What do I need to try next? ;)
