Sitting at the top of my duty free beauty list was this Chanel CC Cream Complete Correct SPF 50. Not only does it have some incredible SPF coverage, it’s been raved about across the beauty community meaning I simply had to give it a try ;) CC Creams aka Colour Control Creams broke onto the scene following the success of BB Creams aka Blemish Balms. In comparison to it’s all in one skincare sister, CC Creams are aimed at improving the appearance of your skin in terms of redness or uneven skin tone. This is the first CC Cream from Parisian powerhouse Chanel so I was keen to see how it faired up in comparison to it’s already popular foundation line.
Formulation is initially thicker in comparison to the likes of the Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua. When you hear people say ‘apply this with your hands’ they’re speaking the truth. Going in with a brush initially immediately showed that you needed the warmth of your hands to really work the product in so it’s left undetectable on the skin. Ditching the tools leaves you with a flawless base that gives light to medium coverage whilst evening out any uneven skin tone or imperfections. Although the CC Cream washes me out at the moment thanks to my post holiday glow attempting to hold on, the colour match is great and I love the healthy finish it leaves to my skin.
Skincare benefits aside, this is a perfect base for those warmer days. Not only do you get that coverage, it also protects you from those harmful rays, perfect for when you want to relax by the river or outside in your garden without the fear of skin damage. As mentioned I am dubious when you hear skincare ‘results’ from a base. Only the test of time will be able to account for that but so far this is quickly becoming a warm weathered staple and am glad I gave into the hype.
