Soz for starting the week off with major food envy. Ya think I coulda waited and uploaded this on a Wednesday but nope, I’m kicking things off with a new restaurant love that has my stomach seriously rumbling whilst looking at these pictures #someonehanddelivermeeggsstat. The restaurant in question can be found over in Putney. Nestled along the highstreet slap bang next to one of the best steak places I’ve tried (coincidence I think not) keep an eye out for it’s blue front and bustling atmosphere aka the home of the Tried and True Cafe.
Serving up a delicious range of breakfast options available all day until 4pm (I heard angels sing when I read this) you can opt your traditional eggs, porridge, pancakes or venture out into a chorizo burger, pulled pork benedict or good old bacon sarnie. On my most recent visit I ordered poached eggs on gluten free bread with a side of avocado with lemon & salt. Golden yellow yolks, fresh avocado screaming to been devoured, this is my new fav breakfast dish and my only wish would be to have it everyday.
Visiting with my mum before a sneaky girls shopping trip she went for the creamy portobello mushrooms with a side of treacle cured bacon. Rich in flavour with lashings of pesto, needless to say both of our plates were cleared. Tried and True have a relaxed vibe with big bench tables for families, an outdoor sun trap for those warmer days and you get a big bottle of water the moment you sit down (I seriously don’t understand why all restaurants don’t do this). I recommend picking yourself up a latte as well to see their cute milk designs! For breakfast or just a catchup with friends, make sure you head down to this incredible South London find.
