I adore bronzer. Whether it’s for adding warmth to the high points of the face or simply to give the illusion of supermodel cheek bones, they are some of my most used products and my round face would be lost without them. Over the years I’ve tried cool tones, bronzed offerings and even full on sculpting additions (don’t worry I’ve finally learnt they are not for me and have donated them to a good home!) As you can see from the dents and dips above, the ones in my collection get a lotta love so it’s time to share my top picks with you.
Drugstore – sitting comfortably in the middle of drugstore and everyday, this ticks the requirements of both contour categories. The Soap & Glory’s Solar Powder comes in at a budget friendly price tag however the two shades allow you to pick and choose which look you wish to achieve. With a cooler tone and warmer option sculpt away or give your skin that sun kissed glow.
Luxury – for those special occasions and when you want to really darken up the hollows of your cheeks the Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze & Glow palette is where it’s at. More suited for nights out this gives a deep yet blendable hue that really defines those cheek bones.
Everyday – if you want a shade that can be run through the hollows of your face or along the high points, look no further then this Tarte Amazonian Clay Matte Waterproof Bronzer offering. Not only is it waterproof (apparently) it’s matte meaning you won’t be left looking like a disco ball after application.
Cult Classic – when it comes to contour, the brand on everyone’s lips is Kevyn Aucoin. Their cool toned Sculpting Powder suits a multitude of skin tones whilst mimicking those illusive shadows. Not best suited when you have a tan, however throughout the rest of the year this is a cheekbone lovers best friend.
The Oldie but Goodie – ah NARS Laguna there is still love for you out there old friend! Although this has fallen off the radar for most beauty lovers, back in the day it reigned supreme. This is more of a traditional bronzer however with a light hand it can still work a treat to give some shape and dedication to your face.
If that wasn’t enough bronzy goodness for this Wednesday, I also have a new contour release to share with you next week so keep your eyes peeled for that!
