Following on from last weeks post ‘Most Worn Lipsticks‘ I figured it was only right to shed the spotlight onto some of my fav powder products too. More difficult to spot, hitting pan on a powder product is infamously hard for a beauty junkie to do. Whenever that glorious moment does occur, you know it’s because it’s truly loved! First up to bat is blusher, one of those steps in my makeup routine I don’t give enough credit. I really do love those coral and peachy toned powders that add life to my dull complexion.
Currently there are two within my collection that showcase that illusive pan – Laura Mercier Second Skin Cheek Colour in Peach Whisper and Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush in Tipsy. Laura Mercier joined the gang first and is a staple blush that should be in everyones collection. The perfect peachy tone it gives a soft colour that looks super natural and flattering on a wide range of skintones. Next up is no surprise, I am a Tipsy addict! This gets the most complements when worn and lasts throughout the day to give colour to the apples of your cheeks.
When it comes to multipurpose face powders its gotta be the NARS Bronzing Powder in Laguna and Laura Mercier Translucent Pressed Setting Powder. Laguna is a repurchase, oh yes an entire one has been used up and I’ve even hit pan on my second ;) A great contour shade this can also be used to warm up the face thanks to its classic and multi-use colour. On nights out you will always find this Laura Mercier Powder in my clutch bag. It’s finely milled powder is perfect to blot away the shine without leaving your face covered in makeup. A winner all round.
Lastly – the honourable mention category. Why are these so special? Well the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Dim Light is my second pan and MAC Powder Blush in Melba is my third/fourth. I know, who thought it was actually possible to go through that many blushers?! Back in the day Melba was the only blush of choice, I remained dedicated for many years and still keep one around for nostalgia and peachy cheeked days. Next, the Hourglass brand where my love for their Ambient Lighting Powders are still going strong. You get a mighty block of product in one pan and already I’m starting to spy it on my second one!
When you look through your powder products what are your most used? Do you often hit pan on your favs?
