Happy hump day! We are nestled slap bang in the middle of Christmas Gift Guide week and today is all about makeup. Time to crack out those heart eyed emojis, get your wish lists at the ready and swoon over these treats that will set hearts a flutter. Every year without fail there are a number of cosmetic picks that fill up my wish list. They cause my mum to tut and question why I could possibly need more makeup and every year the answer is the same – it’s never about the need it’s about the beauty ;) How can anyone resist these utterly stunning festive gift sits and limited edition boxes? My answer is no one can!
NARS Virtual Domination Cheek Palette – £45
One of the stand out releases in the makeup world this season comes from NARS. Their delectable offerings encased in a white shattered box are summit else and I may have treated myself to both. Starting with the Virtual Domination Cheek Palette you get the Miss Liberty Highlighter, Limited Edition Sex Fantasy Blush, Deep Throat Blush, Limited Edition Final Cut Blush (my personal fav) and a big Laguna Bronzer. Worth a whopping £117 it really is a bargain. The colour payoff is gorgeous and although it isn’t the most travel friendly palette, it is one of the most beautiful.
NARS Digital World Lip Pencil Coffret – £32
Shock horror before I splashed out and bought this set I had never owned a NARS Lip Pencil. I know, slaps wrist. Luckily all my wrongs have been put to right and I now have five at my fingertips. Although these are smaller in size compared to the originals, you still get a good amount that can be easily popped into your handbag. Inside the set there are two Mini Velvet Matte Lip Pencils in Cruella and New Iberico and three Mini Satin Lip Pencils in Yu, Descanso and Torres Del Paine. Now I get what all the fuss is about and it’s official – I’m hooked!
NARS Dual Intensity Eyeshadow – £21
If blushes and lipsticks aren’t your thing, the new NARS Dual Intensity Eyeshadows will always be a hit. Nestled inside sleek packaging the shade Himalia is a perfect everyday neutral that will suit all beauty lovers. The intensity can be amped up if applied with water or worn alone and washed out on the lid to makes a great everyday smokey eye. Since picking this up it’s become an everyday staple to the point I may have snuck a few more shades onto my Christmas wish list.
Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush – £28
Hourglass and Christmas – a match made in beauty heaven. My pick this season comes from their blush line, gold packaging through to an enchanting shade selection, this is a real treat if found under the Christmas tree. I’ve got the shade Luminous Flush which once applied lifts your complexion. A blush/highlight combo this looks flattering on a number of skin tones and comes at no surprise that its a favourite across the board. Wanting to push the boat out a little bit further? Hunt down the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush Palette to fulfil a blush lovers dreams.
Smashbox Full Exposure Eye Shadow Palette – £33.30
Alongside combo limited edition sets there are also a number of shadow specific palettes that get launched for the festive season. Although this Smashbox delight doesn’t fit that bill it ticks all the Christmas boxes in terms of a palette for this time of year. Packed full of mattes, shimmers, neutrals and some silver tones for those party looks, you really can’t go wrong. The Urban Decay Naked Palettes will always hold a special place in my heart but if the person you know already has one of those tucked away in their makeup bags, this is a great pick to add to their collection.
Giorgio Armani Rouge d’Armani Lipstick – £26.50
Oh hello lover ;) For luxurious design, packaging, formulation and shade selection, look no further than the Giorgio Armani counter. A gift to spoil that special someone in your life you really can’t deny how gorgeous these are. To embrace Santa and Rudolph’s red shiny nosey the colour 400 gives you that rich colour payoff that lasts on the lips. The embossed logo onto the product itself adds to the decadent feel. Fading and feathering is an issue of the past, instead just swipe on and enjoy the moment knowing your lips look enviable.
