It wouldn’t be a haul week if I didn’t manage to splurge on a few skincare items right?! Only one item was a repurchase and like a good little shopper the rest were newbies ready to turn my skin into a beaming beacon of radiance and health, at least, that’s what I was hoping ;) Starting off with the repurchase shock horror it’s the Clinique Take The Day Off Balm – oh yes my third tub. I have officially never been able to buy this in the UK therefore it is my top holiday shopping essential, like a woman possessed it’s the first place I head to in Sephora and you will nearly always find a pot hidden away in my suitcase on the return flight home.
Sticking with cleansers I also picked up the Ole Henriksen Pure Truth Melting Cleanser. I am yet to give this a whirl but after rave reviews from skincare guru Caroline Hirons it was a no brainer that this was going to end up coming home with me. As opposed to a balm this is a gel like consistency this smells incredible and I’ve got my fingers crossed that my skin agrees with all the great reviews it has received. Onto masks and at duty free I snapped up the REN Flash Rinse 1 Minute Facial – a complete surprise purchase I was certain that duty free wouldn’t stock this new release but there it was sitting pride of place on the shelf. Naturally I didn’t think twice and added it to my bag, again, yet to be used but I have high hopes.
Finally the last mask I got was a complete splurge, the Peter Thomas Roth Cucumber Gel Mask was recommended to me to help combat the redness and irritation I was experiencing on my face from the flight. A slightly more expensive purchase I put my faith in the Sephora assistant and boy am I glad that I did. This cooling gel mask helps to reduce those inflamed areas and leaves your skin soothed and calm, considering how my face reacts to the sun this was a saviour! With ingredients ranging from pineapple, papaya to cucumber and sugar maple I knew this was a must for my red skin.
