Who else remembers the brand Eyeko back when they used to sell nail varnishes under names such as Chi Chi Polish, Punk Polish and my personal favourite Rain Polish. A lot has changed for this once unknown brand and they have flourished to a level that includes ultra chic Alexa Chung facing up their award winning mascaras and liners. Recently a bundle of new launches have worked their way into the beauty world and today I’ve given them a whirl so I can give you the low down on what’s a must have buy and what you can save your hard earned cash on.
Hit
The bit hit comes in the form of their Visual Eyes Liquid Eyeliner in the shade Ebony*. A waterproof brush tip liner this gives precision, pigmented colour and ease of application all neatly tied up within a single pen. Similar to my much loved Paul & Joe liner this has a super fine nib to give you the ability to pop your liner close to the lash line so your eyes appear more defined. No dragging or smudging in sight simply hold the pen at an angle to achieve a cat eye look without all the fuss.
Middle Ground
Oh yes you read it right, a Sport Waterproof Mascara* has landed bringing an interesting concept to the normal mascara lineup. In my books makeup is a no go area when it comes to becoming a beetroot face at the gym, it’s hard enough staying upright on a treadmill let alone worrying about mascara running down my face. This is 100% waterproof & sweat proof so if you are in an extreme situation when you need your mascara to really last – this will be just the ticket for you.
Miss
Me and My Shadow* the waterproof shadow liner in Taupe and Chocolate. On first impressions these caught my eye, being a fan of stick shadows I was excited to give them a whirl but as soon as I applied them my hopes were dashed. The intense waterproof shadow was nowhere to be seen, instead I was left with a poor wash of colour that diminished when I tried to blend it out. The ‘brush’ doesn’t seem to have a purpose and sadly the shadows weren’t the most smooth to apply.
