L’Oreal #TXT Volume Supersizing Spray – £3.79* | L’Oreal #TXT Wave Creating Spray – £3.79*
Following on from Friday’s budget beauty cleansing balm I’m back with a couple of budget beauty haircare options. Before I jump into the review this will be a very love/hate response, one of the products pictured above I adore however on the other side of the coin I want to use a selection of less favourable words! Both from the L’Oreal #TXT range, the selection of products have been created to give you textured hair and effortless style. Straight hair beware as this new studio line will banish the lifeless and limp and instead inject some oomph and movement into your tresses. Wanting to end things on a positive note let’s start with the not so successful product, the Wave Creating Spray. Spritzed over damp hair the instructions on the back recommend you half dry you hair before putting it into one or more top knots and then continuing with your hair dryer. I found that this did nothing to my hair. It was as straight as it would be naturally, there was no hold or grit in my hair and it just sat lifeless and pretty sad. My dreams of soft and natural waves were very quickly banished!
Luckily the second item I tried was a complete 180 and it’s quickly found it’s way into my top hair care and styling products. The Volume Supersizing Spray is pretty much a budget version of the Bumble and Bumble Dryspun Finish or the infamous Oribe Dry Texturing Spray. A few spritzes throughout the roots of your hair gives hold, volume, texture and a bit of grit without it making your hair feel dirty. A little goes a long way and it doesn’t leave your hair weighed down or crunchy. After only a few uses it quickly knocked the Bumble and Bumble Dryspun Finish out the window. It’s more affordable, does the same job (slightly better in my eyes) and smells divine. The Oribe will forever be in my collection and is saved for nights out or special events, but this L’Oreal offering has become my daily volumiser giver and best hair friend.
