dior have recently released a new mascara to add to their already impressive range of diorshow mascaras. called new look this new mascara contains a revolutionary formula that creates multi-dimensional volume for a dramatic voluminous effect. alongside this serum treatment formula is a new nano-brush that is a mixture of rubber and plastic to allow for an easy and precise application.
this is the first dior mascara i have ever tried and my expectations were high. upon first impressions i liked the packaging. the box is a silver almost metallic material (impossible to photograph!) and the mascara tube itself is black with silver trim. very dior. things were looking good however as soon as i pulled the wand out of the mascara my heart dropped. i was met with a small stubby plastic brush. my worst nightmare. i love big full brushes like benefit bad gal, collection 2000 big fake lash effect mascara and rimmel scandal eyes. this was not what i wanted. i assumed it would do nothing to my eyelashes and whilst weeping inside i proceeded to apply the mascara.

what is it they say about don’t judge a book by its cover? yeah that! i actually couldn’t believe that that little stubby wand could have this effect on my eyelashes. i found the wand so easy to use and as it is small it meant i could get to every single lash. i have naturally fairly long lashes but this mascara still managed to lengthen and define each lash. it lacks a bit on the volume side (what is it with me loving volume?!) but i will forgive it for this as it does everything else right. also this mascara is in brown which i thought would disappear on my lashes but it doesn’t. this mascara has made me rethink small wand mascaras and also brown mascaras.
diorshow new look mascara you have impressed and even made me rethink the current mascaras i own. you and i are going to be great friends =)
