vaseline have recently relaunched their essential moisture body lotion range in line with a body lotion amnesty campaign they are currently running. this campaign is based on a beauty survey vaseline conducted with 1,131 uk women aged 18+ answering questions about their beauty habits. the results from this survey are pretty staggering and show that uk women waste £964m on unused beauty products. this really highlights how much we waste in unloved beauty products that sit gathering dust in the back of our cupboards and bathrooms
when i first read this figure i was shocked at the thought of these beauty products sitting unused but then i only had to have a brief look into my cupboards to see that i am one of those people too! i love spending money all things beauty related but this results in me having far too many products for just one person. do i really need 7 foundations, 6+ blushers and 5 body lotions for one body and face?! (sadly part of me still says yes :P) this survey also shows that on average women waste 75% of their skincare products and that one in seven women admitted to hoarding body lotions over 3 years old! madness!
vaseline commissioned this research to mark the launch of their body lotion amnesty where they will be touring the uk and offering you the chance to swap an old bottle of moisturiser for the only moisturiser you need – you guessed it a free full sized bottle of vaseline essential moisture body lotion! this amnesty tour is happening right now and will be in london 25-27th november in westfields shephard’s bush
so is a bottle of vaseline essential moisture body lotion the only body lotion you will need? i put it to the test!
i found the old formulas of these body lotions very running and watery and after a couple of weeks the top of bottle would be gunked up and the product would literally dribble out. not what you want from a body lotion! i am pleased to report that the consistency has drastically changed. it is now a richer and thicker formulation that feels a lot more moisturising on the skin. they also smell better too! my fav by far is the cocoa radiant one. shown above it has a more ashy/brown colour then the standard one and also smells delicious. this has been a saviour in the colder months and helped to soften up my elbows
so head on down to westfields shephard’s bush this weekend to recycle an old unloved body lotion for a brand new vaseline essential moisture body lotion =)
