Oh boy do I love creams shadows. They give that one wash of colour which lasts all day and is a breeze to apply. I’ve got quite a few in my collection that get rotated on the daily. As you can see they follow a pretty similar spectrum of colour, soft frosty pinks or warm brown. The two classics! For a daily look when heading into the office I opt for the pinky shades giving me that classic ‘All That Glitters’ look. Either worn alone or paired with a matte crease shade, they get slapped onto my lids on the daily with either a stiff shader brush or my fingers if I’m in more of a rush. Opting for a darker brown gives the perfect evening smokey eye without the faff. Praise the cream shadow gods!
Best for Budget – here my Bourjois Colour Edition Shadow in Petale de Glace and Max Factor Excess Shimmer Shadow in Copper* reign supreme. Both sporting a sizeable dent these are the two shadows I can apply without thinking. Even for a budget option it doesn’t impact their staying power and both still blend out quickly and easily across the lid.
Best for Everyday – for a classic cream shadow that remains a staple in many an MUA kitbag, it’s got to be the MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pot in Vintage Selection or everyone’s favourite, the Charlotte Tilbury Eyes to Mesmerise Cream Eye Shadow in Norma Jean. The MAC offering is an oldy but a goody working perfectly for those days where I simply cannot decide what to pop onto my lid we all have them. Charlotte Tilbury brings some glam to an everyday look with a luxurious feeling shadow that gives a super wearable look.
Best for Luxury – I’m sorry for mentioning this yet again but I still to this day haven’t found anything that beats this Tom Ford Creme Colour in Spiced. It’s rich colour delivers an instantaneous smokey eye that simply screams luxury. The golden undertones brings a unique shade to a classic brown and I often wear this alone on the lid yet am met with questions asking how many shadows I’m wearing. Keep your eyes peeled at duty free as you may still be able to snap one up.
