Looking back over old pictures and makeup posts it is apparent that my tastes have changed and the way I wear makeup has evolved from that teenage girl who wanted to cover up every inch of her face until it was unrecognisable. Now, it’s rather nice showing off my skin (when it is behaving) and I’ve found that all the thick bases have been replaced by lighter luminizers and dew enhancers. Although I didn’t reach for the thick coverage over Winter, I have found that as soon as the sun comes around I want to keep things as light as possible. Recently this has involved me using the Garnier Skin Miracle* as my base as I just can get enough of this stuff.
Considering my trampoline cheeks are a none mover, contouring is my BFF. When wanting to keep things looking soft and natural I opt for a light shade that give a hint of definition and shape. This Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette (which I believed is rumoured to be making a permeant addition!) does just the trick and I used all three shades in this look. One to contour, one to step my makeup and one to highlight. For cheeks it’s all about the pinky pinks. The Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Blissful add a very light hint of colour and I paired this with the Bobbi Brown Illuminating Bronzing Powder in 2 Antigua* to add some extra flush to the apples of my cheeks.
Finished off with a smokey eye thanks to the uber gorgeous Nars Narsissist Palette, winged liner and lashings of mascara and my Spring ready makeup is complete. Don’t forget to pop on a baby pink lipstick to tie everything together. You can’t go wrong with MAC’s Creme Cup and it is such a staple shade I’ve almost managed to use up the entire bullet. Coming from a beauty lover that is quite a statement! What are you favourite Spring ready makeup pieces?
