Let’s all take a moment to welcome my very first YSL blush into my collection and arms. Long overdue considering all things YSL are utterly drop dead gorgeous but finally the time has come and boy is it a beaut. Back when I was getting coloured matched for the YSL Youth Liberator foundation (which FYI was a horrific experience, the ‘sales assistant’ told me my skincare routine was terrible and she didn’t even wash her face with water!) Although the foundation matching didn’t go to plan she did manage to pair me with a blush that normally would never cross my radar. As you can see the blush in question is purple. I’ve never owned nor have ever wanted to own a blush that falls into the category of the shade purple. Pink, coral flushes hand them over but purple? Was I going to end up looking like Barney the purple dinosaur?
Luckily not. Instead this gives a very soft wash of colour that would be perfect for people that are after a subtle kiss of colour on their cheeks. The purple colour doesn’t translate as intense purple and it is very flattering against my hazel eyes. The pigmentation isn’t anything to write home about but I think that works in this blushes favour and prevents the purple dinosaur from every becoming an issue. The packaging of course is second to none. A rich gold palette with a sizeable amount of product inside with a mirror for good measure. This my friend is the joy of a luxury blusher.
