CND Stickey Base Coat | Sachajuan Ocean Mist
Cult Beauty is an online shopping mecca filled to the brim with illusive products that have received a ‘cult’ status causing it to be stocked and sold on the site. Everything available is claimed to be only the best picks of the beauty industry, but do the products themselves live up to this title? I picked up two highly raved products from the site to see what the fuss was about and dip my toe into the world of all things cult. First up, The CND Stickey Base Coat, an award winning item that effectively sticks your nail varnish to your nails to help prolong your manicure and keeping everything looking in tip top shape for longer. I find base coats a bit of a questionable area as I can never be sure if they work or not. What I am sure of is this, paired with a top coat of Seche Vite, helped to keep my manicure in place for five days before major chipping occurred. For a base coat, it managed to impress me.
Next up is the Sachajuan Ocean Mist aka the rival to Bumble and Bumble’s Surf Spray. From a brand based in Stockholm this is a styling spray that can be used on clean, wet or dry hair. A few spritzes throughout your tresses helps you to achieve a more beachy and textured style. Understandably this doesn’t give me instant waves, but on my fine and flat hair it gives oomph, texture and hold. It helps to prevent my hair from being so squeaky clean after washing and I am able to scrunch it more to give a ‘lived in’ feel. I find this is less gritty compared to the Bumble and Bumble offering and it suits me better for everyday use. Clearly the world of the cult beauty item is a good place to be as you are able to bag yourself a selection of some must have beauty items that work a treat.
