It’s been a couple of months since my last empties instalment and it’s time to share what’s been used up and is heading towards the bin. Not a ton of products but all daily essentials that have become ingrained in my routine, without them I would be lost and they are all much loved too =)
Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm – Another cleansing balm bites the dust. The Clinique Cleansing Balm is a scentless balm that wipes away makeup quickly and easily. It doesn’t strip the skin of any essential oils and therefore your face doesn’t feel tight or dry after using it. I really loved this cleansing balm, my only issue would be the fact that as it is scentless, towards the end of the pot it started to smell a bit odd. Might have something to do with the fact your fingers are constantly taking out product, but it felt gritty and I noticed a slightly odd scent. The products itself is gorgeous but it may be better suited to being in a tube.
Verdict – would repurchase but not straight away
Soap & Glory The Daily Smooth* – Hello, my name is Siobhan and I am a Soap & Glory Body Lotion addict. Form the formula to the packaging to the delectable fragrances, they have well and truly won me over. This was my everyday body lotion that I would apply straight after a shower. It kept my skin subtle and soft throughout the day and the fragrance lingered too. This has quickly become my favourite daily body lotion of choice and I love it so much so I have a pot of a richer Soap & Glory lotion that I reserve for use before I head off to slumber.
Verdict – Santa repurchased this for me!
The Little Bubble Co Shower Gel – Shocker – I’ve used another gigantic bottle of this fab shower gel. Expensive and fancy pants shower gels and washes can move to the side as this is the only thing I need inside my shower. Cheap as chips, lathers up a treat and smells so scrumptious, it wins across the board. The only other look-in that gets into my shower is Snow Fairy from Lush and that only comes out at Christmas time!
Verdict – repurchased but currently using Snow Fairy for a bit of a glitter shower!
NARS Creamy Concealer – Why oh why must I have fallen in love with an expensive concealer. Many happy years were spent with the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer but no, this one came in and stole my heart. This concealer is fantastic and can be used to cover blemishes, dark circles, uneven skin tone and redness. It doesn’t cake or sit heavy on the skin and I find the shade Custard to be the perfect match for me. Damn you Nars for making this a must have staple!
Verdict – will repurchase with some handy dandy Space NK points
Laura Mercier Foundation Primer in Oil Free – Now those with a good memory will know that back in my last empties post, included in the mix was the Laura Mercier Foundation Primer in Oil Free. Don’t worry, I haven’t managed to go through another one in the space of two months, instead I have managed to squeeze that much out of my ’empty tube’. This just goes to show that when it comes to empties, scissors are your best friend. Cut in half you will find so much product collected around the inside of the tube that you are unable to squeeze out, but you can reach yourself once you’ve attacked it with the scissors. Note to self, make sure every last bit of the product has been used up before declaring it empty! (I might need to take a hack saw to my body lotion and shower gel pictured above!)
Verdict – have repurchased already!
