Although I am partial to a bit of online beauty hauling (well a bit is putting it mildly) there is nothing that gets my heart race, palms sweaty or excitement running like being in a beauty hall. There is something about the buzz of people around you and scent of beauty in the air that just can’t be replicated online. Yes sometimes you are met with overbearing sales assistants and pushy women, but once you have learnt to dodge and avoid them, beauty halls will quickly become your new best friend.
When it comes to perusing these aisles my favourite place to do so is of course, London. It really is a mecca for beauty halls and today I am going to share with you some of my top places. Although predictable, Selfridges really does stand out there to be one of, if not thee best. It has size, brands galore and a section dedicated to smaller and niche products. Everything you could possibly want is housed here and the new stand of Charlotte Tilbery makeup is utterly divine.
Once I have devoured everything that Selfridges have to offer I like to hope across the road and down South Molton Street. Here lies home one of my favourite Space NK stores. There is also a Nails Inc bar ready and waiting to give to a manicure and a handful of trendy fashion boutiques. If that wasn’t enough head to the bottom of the road and turn left, you will find yourself in-front of Fenwick. An old school department store you can pick up a range of brands spanning from the popular to the unknown. Formerly a stock-list of Becca, they sell a number of Louise Young brushes and also a selection of Philip Kingsley products.
Swing back to Oxford Street and you will be at John Lewis. Oh the beauty that this store holds, a recent refurbishment has created the most gorgeous beauty hall that is home to the majority of brands you can find on the highstreet. All encompassed within a luxurious space this is my fav place to do my Christmas shopping. Last and by no means least is Carnaby Street and the location of Liberty. Upcoming British style paired with the traditional aesthetic of Liberty, it is the perfect hybrid of the two. With Pixi, a new Benefit Store and MAC Pro across Carnaby Street, you can then pop into Liberty for some top notch beauty stuff including my skincare love, Aurelia. As you can tell I could talk about the London beauty halls until I am blue in the face, it’s one of those things you’ve just gotta experience if you can =)
