CK Powder Eye Shadows – £12 each*
Ever since powerhouse Calvin Klein released their debut CK One Cosmetics line their products have been teetering around my ‘to buy’ list. Their range of capsule makeup comprises of foundations, bronzers, mascaras and even long wear cream eyeshadows that put together builds an impressive line. Each product is housed within white and black CK branded packaging and the rounded edges gives the range a unique and fresh feel.
One of the items that caught my eye is the Powder Eye Shadows. Available in 12 shades that can be picked up from Debenhams, they promise dramatic colour with a long lasting finish. The individual shadows are packaged in a circular disk where you slide the lid to access the colour. From someone who has been known to buy products in the past based purely on their packaging these nifty design instantly appealed to me.
From initial viewing the shades all contain flecks of shimmer, not ideal for those gals who prefer a matte look however I quite like my shadows to contain a hint shimmer. The range contains some pretty bolder colours and as soon as you start swatching you see how pigmented they are. My only issue is that the shadows are quite dusty, not in the sense of the colour but you do get a lot of product fall out, tissues at the ready with these ones! In terms of shades from left to right there are; 810 Fearless, 720 Evolved, 400 Ironic, 100 Expose and 200 Obsessed. The gold colour turns into a deep black with flecks of gold which was an interesting surprise! For me the stand out shade is 720 Evolved which is a gorgeous taupe colour, I’ve been paring this with a cream colour base for a neutral everyday eye. For £12 you get super pigmented colour that last on the lid without creasing. CK – I am impressed!
