Beauty Edit: Weekend Travel Essentials

This past bank holiday weekend was spent with some of my favourite people galavanting around Cardiff. I pretty much spammed my Twitter and Instagram feeds with my trip away and now I am suffering from some serious post holiday blues. As most of my trips involve me travelling back home to London (where I have already put together a mini collection of everything I use daily) this trip to Cardiff meant that I had to break out my travel essentials to get me through all the pampering and beautifying that the weekend would bring. There is nothing cuter that your favourite cleaner or toner in a mini sized bottle so when a trip like this rolls into town I make sure I pack everything that does the job but that comes in teeny, tiny packaging.

When I first start packing for a weekend away I reach for my most important skincare items. Thanks to the Liz Earle 24 Days of Christmas Advent Calender* I have a lot of my fav skincare goodies in miniature size. For makeup removal & cleansing I packed the Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser* and I paired this with the Liz Earle Instant Boost Skin Tonic*. For shower gel I took the Nuxe Fondant Shower Gel that I picked up in a Nuxe Travel Kit last year, buying mini sets like these are a life saviour when it comes to weekends away. To complete my mini set is the Macadamia Healing Oil Therapy in the most cutest little bottle. This has been a life saver when it comes to taming my tresses and I used this bottle sparingly as I’m saving it for my trip to LA.

The not so exciting minis but ever so essential are those you can find in the travel section of Boots or Superdrug. A small bottle of mouthwash is a must and now thanks to these newly released compressed deodorant cans you can pick up your favourite anti-perspirant in a miniature size. My Oribe Dry Texturising Spray is a staple item no matter where I am going and this smaller bottle fits perfectly in your handbag. Finally for hold on the go this small bottle of VO5 Hairspray will keep your curls locked in place.

The last item that is great when going away is a small palette. Day to day this houses a few depotted blushers but when it comes to a road trip it becomes the home for my eyeshadow picks. You can fit 9 MAC eye shadows in this little Z Palette and the only hard part for me was picking which 9 I wanted to take. I may have sneaked an Urban Decay Palette into my bag too (which will explain why these picks look quite random) but if you can limit yourself to just 9 this helps you safely carry them out whilst not taking up much room.

Understandably these were not the only products that I took to Cardiff with me, I don’t think I am willing to declare how much stuff I actually took for three nights away! Lot’s of brands now offer starter kits and travel sets meaning you can pick up your favs in the perfect travel size all ready for when the next Travelodge sale pops up online.
