Vichy Normaderm Micellar Water for Imperfection Prone and Sensitive Skin – £10.50
Oh the world of micellar waters! A solution that this time last year I pretty much had no idea what they were and now I feel like I can’t live without them! To break me away from using face wipes the skincare devil I branched into the world of micellar waters. The first one I got was the Darphin Azahar Cleansing Micellar Water and this is still hands down my favourite. The price tag makes me weep which is why ever since I finished the bottle I have been on the hunt for a cheaper alternative (and as you can see by this post I am still hunting :P). The second micellar water I tried was Bioderma which shock horror I can’t stand! I do love their ever so cute teeny tiny bottles for travelling but that’s about it! The next one I tried (and my second fav) is the Nuxe Micellar Cleansing water with Roses and Green Tea. Why haven’t I rushed out to re-buy this I hear you cry? Because I can’t blooming find it! The only one I can find is with Rose Petals which I have tried in the toner version and the smell is sadly too much for me. This then neatly leads me on to my most recent attempt with the Caudalie Cleansing Water which I finished at the weekend. This micellar water was okay but I found it left my skin feeling unclean and traces of makeup were still visibly present. The hunt continues as I am still determined to find a cheaper alternative so I turned my gaze to Boots to see what they had to offer.
When searching on the Boots website the only micellar water that appears in the Vichy Normaderm Micellar Water. Sitting at £10.50 it is the cheapest micellar water that I have tried to date (though Bioderma possibly works out cheaper depending where you get it from). The first thing that struck me about this cleanser is that it does have a slightly odd smell. I can’t quite work out exactly what it is or why I don’t like it it just seems a bit odd. Once you get past the smell however this is a darn good cleanser! I wouldn’t necessarily pin it down as my favourite micellar water to date but for a more penny pinching alternative this one ticks all the boxes.
Now I’ve given my fair share of micellar waters a run for their money which one am I itching to stock pile? The Darphin one hands down! In fact…I really should continue my search to see where I can buy it cheaper in bulk…… ;)
