Big and voluminous hair is something I am always lusting after – they do say you want what you don’t have! If your a long time reader of my blog you will know that I have battled with fine hair that is naturally poker straight. Trying to inject any ounce of life, movement or oomph into my tresses can be hard work and something that I pretty much spent all of last year trying to achieve. Luckily that hunt resulted in me finding some pretty darn good products that help bring my hair to that state of luscious fullness. Although on a day to day basis I am more happy with leaving my hair natural – as soon as evening rolls into town or I am going out for drinks with the girls, these products come in to full force!
To start of the volumising process is the prep stage – washing your hair. The shampoo and conditioner duo that have the biggest impact on my hair when it comes to volume is the Percy & Reed Bountifully Bouncy Volumising Set*. I am always dubious as to whether a shampoo and conditioner can have any real impact on my hair but these shocked me as they do. They help to add more lift at the roots and prevents my hair from falling so flat. Once my hair is washed and ready to go it’s time to add my hair care hero, that one product that I don’t think I could ever live without, the Philip Kingsley Mazimizer. I love this stuff and to prove to myself the difference it makes to my hair, one day I didn’t use it and let’s just say that day was spent with me having a very bad hair day! I spritz this onto towel dried hair directly at the roots and then blast my hair with a blow drier. This teamed with the Percy & Reed duo gives my hair life, bounce and lift everywhere I need it.
The next two items are added extras that I don’t reach for everyday but are must haves when looking for that Victoria Secret’s bounce when going out for an evening. First up the Bumble & Bumble Surf Spray which I also spritz into my hair once it has been towel dried. What I love about this spray is that it adds texture and hold to my hair. Whenever I wash my hair it can become too squeaky clean and any style I try and create just instantly falls out. This stops that from happening and gives a bit more grit to my super clean hair. Next up is a dry shampoo indulgence , the Oribe Dry Texturising Spray. this is something I use for special occasions as even this teeny bottle can break the bank but boy is it worth it! Think of dry shampoo, texturising spray and oomph powder all rolled into one and that is what is packed inside this bottle. A couple of uses of this and your hair has entered va va voom town! It really vamps up your tresses and gives that instant back combed effect.
Individually these items add life and lift to your hair but put together they really pack a punch! Volumisied hair a go!
