January Favourites

january_favourites

Favourites are a time of the month I look forward to. I love looking back, remembering what I have been using and paying homage to those stand out products that have saved my skin during the month. It’s quite apt that I say that as January has been a month of breakouts and blemishes so I have been reaching for the spot busters in full force. The above really have been skin saviors and by the end of the month *touch wood* my skin is returning to a state of calm and clear.

1. Dr. Lipp Original Nipple Balm for Lips* (review here)
2. Boots Botanics Ultra Calm Skin Relief Serum* (review here)
3. La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo (review here)
4. Origins Out of Trouble Mask (review here)
5. Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara (review here)
6. Rimmel Kate Moss Matte Lipstick in 110 (review here)
7. MAC Fluidline in Blacktrack (link here)
8. Aesop Chamomile Concentrate Anti-Blemish Masque (review here)
9. MAC Something Special Creamblend Blush (link here)

The Origins and Aesop mask have been on rotation throughout the weeks to help clear up my skin. I have been attempting the ‘3 mask attack’ where I use something like the Origins mask followed by the REN Glycolactic Skin Renewal Peel Mask and finished off with the Antipodes Aura Manuka Honey Mask to pop the moisture back into my skin. This can leave my skin a bit red and sore which is where the Boots Ultra Calm Serum comes in. It helps to restore balance and remove any redness left in my skin. The Effaclar Duo (which dare I say really is the wonder product that everyone makes it out to be) has been my go to morning and evening moisturiser and has banished the bumps on my forehead. Then to keep my lips in tip top condition the Dr. Lipp Nipple Balm (lol) packs in the moisturise and keeps my lips soft even against the cold.

Recently I have been reaching for less and less makeup (shocker I know) which has even resulted in me coming into work today with just a BB Cream as my base – hello Dr.Jart+ Water Fuse BB Cream you beaut! With my skin acting up recently the last thing I wanted to do is pack on a whole lotta makeup.  So, instead I have been keeping the bases light and focusing the drama on my eyes, cat flicks with the MAC Fluidline, or a red lip thanks to Kate Moss. Then to complete the look the Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara helps my eyes to look wide away and open and the MAC Something Special Creamblend Blush adds the perfect amount of flush to my cheeks.
