Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet Luminous Matte Lip Colour in 307 L’Impatiente
Oh Chanel – are there many things more beautiful in life? Sometimes a girl just needs a super luxurious lipstick to have in her makeup collection that once applied makes her feel like a hundred bucks. This, for me, is one of them. From the packaging to the neatly hidden ‘click to open’ function this lipstick oozes class. Sadly this beauty was part of the Chanel Christmas 2012 Eclats Du Sor De Chanel Collection so am not 100% sure if you can stick pick it up, however if you do spy it on a counter or online snap it up sharpish! This is a super vampy colour which has me instantly thinking of MAC’s Diva (which I do oh so love) but this colour just has that added jenna sais quois. Diva is a lot more dark and heavy on this lips whereas this has that vampy colour but without the punch. It is a deep red black with a semi-opaque coverage meaning it applies more sheer to your lips. I find it easier to wear then Diva as it isn’t as pigmented so if you are looking for a darker lip this can be easier to wear.
My only slight gripe with this lipstick, and it pains me to say it, is that it can be quite drying on your lips. You need a bit of prep work (lip scrub, balm) before applying this otherwise it will cling to all those dry patches hanging around. That being said, the is not an everyday lipstick and those nights I do decide to apply it I have usually already done those first few prepping steps. Paired with a simple black dress this lipstick stands out and instantly makes you look like you’ve had a kiss from Chanel.
