Now I am a makeup junkie. I make flirt around with skincare and haircare but my love will always lie with cosmetics and those are the things that I always end up overpacking when I travel. I mean who knows if I want to rock a nice bold green smokey eye when I’m away?! A girl has gotta have options ;) This year after living for the past 3 months on a very limited makeup collection whilst I moved around from house to house in Bournemouth I am more aware of my essentials and what I do and don’t use. This made this year easier to pack but as always a few bonus items made their way in!
There are a few standout items that I used everyday with one being the Chantecaille Just Tinted Moisturiser. Yes this is ridiculously overpriced and I could only afford thanks to some saving of my Space.NK Nuldge rewards but it was such a worthwhile purchase and something I lived off on holiday. Let me know if you guys would like a full review =) I also reached for the Liz Earle Natural Glow Bronzer* everyday. The Chanel Bronze Universial was too big to take away and my beloved Nars Laguna Bronzer has hit pan so I was worried about it shattering. This worked out to be the perfect bronzer as it is matt, worked well as a contour and added a bit of colour to my face to even out my skin tone and enhance any sun I had caught. I also love the smell of this stuff! I also reached for my MAC Blot Power everyday as I don’t think I have found a better blotting powder that works to remove shine, doesn’t leave any whiteness to the skin and doesn’t block up your pores. Perfecto! I also reached for the Dior Amber Diamond Highlighter a lot more then I ever have at home. It was the perfect holiday romance, I mean highlighter! It add such a glorious glow to my cheeks that I will try and keep up this romance back at home =)
Blush wise I flited between the Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Tipsy and the Laura Mercier Second Skin Cheek Colour in Lush Nectarine (best leaving present every it hasn’t left my cheeks since!) For my lips I slightly overstacked the lipstick packing with MAC’s Impassioned (used once!), Creme Cup and Flamingo which were my go to shades and Hue which I didn’t touch. One item that I didn’t go anywhere near was the MAC Paint eyeshadow base. That could have stayed at home! In terms of brushes these were the ones I used everyday:
Did I say I was a fan of the Real Techniques brushes? No? Shocking ;) Yes I packed about 6 more eye brushes (mainly from Sigma) but ever since I have been introduced to the RT Domed Shadow Brush I haven’t used any other eyeshadow brush and for day to day neutral looks I have become a one brush kinda gal! The MAC 109 is my go to highlighting brush and was the perfecto combo with the Dior highlighter. Also can’t forget my trusty cheapy Superdrug kaubki which I use to bronze up my neck as I have never mastered the position to lie in to get a tanned neck! So there you have it, it may look like a lot all put together but it got me though the week and gave me enough options so I didn’t feel without. Some of these items were carried in my hand luggage bag which I will be doing a post on later in the week =)
I have been lucky enough to be shortlisted for a Cosmo Blog Award in the Established Beauty Blog category! It would mean the world to me if you vote for me HERE. Thank you for all your support!
