With the sunshine gloriously beaming up ahead of us the time for SPFs, suncream, aftersun and being safe in the sun is important now more then ever. As I mentioned in a recent post I usually only stick to Piz Buin for suncream as I am mainly on holiday with my mum and she is allergic to most other brands. This year however is a different story! As I have discovered and tried out some new brands since my last summer holiday I wanted to put their sun protection lines to the test to see how they faired up!
First up from Liz Earle is their Mineral Sun Cream SPF 20.* This is £19.25 for 150ml and £6.75 for a 30ml tube. What’s interesting about this suncream is that it is tinted. As you can see in the above photo the suncream is a slight off white colour. This is great as it means you can avoid that pale ghostly look that some suncreams can often give you. Even though this is tinted it blends in quickly to the skin and is invisible. It doesn’t tint it just helps to prevent your skin from being made paler by the suncream! I am a big burner and without a decent amount of SPF on I can turn tomato like very quickly! These past fews weeks this suncream has prevented that from happening and even when used on my face, it hasn’t broken me out.
The other product on offer from Liz Earle is their Botanical Aftersun Gel* which is £13.50 for a 200ml tube or £5.50 for a 30ml tube. This aftersun is sooo cooling! I like to have two aftersuns, one for when I’ve been in the sun and my skin is dehydrated and one for when I’ve burnt. When I’ve burnt I need something super cooling to take out all the sting. This does the trick and even when your not burnt it cools your skin right down. It’s a really light gel that smooths into the skin leaving no residence apart from a delicious smell! It contains lavender to sooth and cucumber to cool, perfection!
These two products paired with my La Roche Posay Posthelio Aftersun* (review here) will be all my sun care needs on holiday! What are your must have sun protectors?
